Terms of use

Sapling is run by the party these terms call "the operator". Independent project. Not affiliated with the Zcash Foundation, Electric Coin Co., or pump.fun.

Sapling is a web interface. It helps you plant coins on pump.fun paired to ZEC, trade them, and harvest: burn them for a share of the ZEC in that coin's roots. The coins, the bonding curve and the pools belong to pump.fun and PumpSwap. The roots are held by the sapling_vault program on Solana. The operator also runs a keeper (an automated worker), an indexer and this website.

Every coin planted through Sapling is created with a creator fee of 2.00% on each trade, paid in ZEC. The operator receives the Sapling share of that fee: 10% of the creator fee, which is 0.20% of each trade. The rest is split as shown here.

The split can change. The admin can change it at any time, within bounds the program enforces: the roots never get less than 0.50% of a trade and the operator never more than 0.40%. There is no minimum for the deployer's share. A change applies to every coin from the next split on.

The operator also receives a planting fee of 0.01 SOL for every coin created through Sapling. pump.fun charges its own protocol fees; the operator receives none of those.

Whoever plants a coin chooses where the deployer's share goes: their own wallet, another wallet, or holder rewards. The choice is recorded on chain together with the coin, in one transaction that lands whole or not at all. Only the current payee can change it. Redirecting to another wallet hands that wallet full control; the previous payee, including the deployer, keeps none. Redirecting hands over control. You can't take it back. Choosing holder rewards is permanent. You are responsible for the address you enter: ZEC sent to a wrong address cannot be recovered, and the operator cannot change a payee.

Payouts to a payee are held by the vault program until anyone sends them to the payee. The operator sends them automatically when the payee's wallet already has a ZEC account, and otherwise the payee claims them on the coin page. A change of payee pays what is waiting to the current payee first, in the same transaction. A payee who hands its own ZEC account to another owner stops its own payouts and changes until that account is handed back; the operator cannot undo that. No pause stops a payout, and neither the admin nor the keeper can take it.

Holder rewards are paid by the operator's keeper, not by the program. The program only lets a coin's pot move to the operator's rewards wallet, one run at a time, after the snapshot's fingerprint is recorded on chain. The keeper decides the snapshot time, who is eligible (a holding worth at least $20; program accounts, burn addresses and the operator's wallets excluded) and each pro-rata share, and publishes every snapshot and transfer on Rings. The operator does not guarantee when runs happen, that any holder is included, or the price used for the $20 minimum. Holders without a ZEC account are skipped and their share rolls over. Buying just before a snapshot and selling after it is possible; snapshot times are random and not announced.

The sapling_vault program has an admin key and a keeper key. The admin can set caps on the roots, pause and unpause deposits or harvests, change how creator fees are split, only within fixed bounds (the roots always get at least 25% of each creator fee, and the treasury at most 20%), change the treasury, buyback and rewards wallets (never to the recovery address), move a paused coin's ZEC to one fixed recovery address, and upgrade the program. Split and wallet changes take effect immediately and apply to every split made afterwards, including creator fees already collected but not yet split and creator fees still waiting at pump.fun. ZEC already in the roots is never affected by them. The keeper can only deposit ZEC into the roots, settle claimed creator fees by the configured split, send payees what is waiting for them and run holder rewards as described above. Neither key can move ZEC in the roots to any other address, change a coin's payee or take a payee's payout, and neither can touch coins in your wallet.

The admin key is held by the operator. The admin can cap and pause a coin's roots, and only while they are paused move their ZEC to a fixed recovery address.

Stamps are optional. If you ask for one, the stamp fee (0.0004 ZEC) is taken from your harvest in the same transaction, and the operator sends one Zcash transaction recording the harvest and 546 zatoshi to the address you gave. If the address cannot receive a stamp, or no stamp is sent within 7 days, the fee is refunded to the wallet that paid it; otherwise it is not refundable.

The address you give and the link it creates between your Solana wallet and that Zcash address are public and permanent, on both chains and on the certificate page. We cannot remove them.

A stamp is a record, not a token: it confers no claim on any asset, on the roots or on Sapling, and carries no promise of value or of any future conversion.

The operator never holds your coins, your SOL or your ZEC. Every planting, trade and harvest is signed by your own wallet and settles on Solana. If you lose access to your wallet, the operator cannot recover it. Transfers from and to Zcash are held by NEAR Intents while in transit, never by the operator (see above).

The service is provided as is. The operator does not guarantee uptime, that a coin will keep any value, that its roots will hold any ZEC, or that pump.fun, PumpSwap, Jupiter, the ZEC bridge or Solana will keep working as they do today. Roots exist while there's ZEC in them. Nothing on this site is investment advice. Read the risk disclosure.

You must be legally able to use this service where you live. You are responsible for knowing whether planting or trading crypto tokens is allowed for you, and for any taxes that follow. Do not use Sapling if it is not allowed where you are.

Do not plant coins that impersonate people, brands, projects or tokens, or that use their names, logos or handles without permission. Do not use slurs or hateful content in a coin's name, ticker, description or image. The site itself refuses only two kinds of names and tickers: those that pass for Sapling's own $SAPLING, and slurs. The operator may hide coins that break these rules from this site. Hiding a coin does not remove it from pump.fun or the chain, and does not touch its roots.

The operator may update these terms. The date at the top changes when that happens. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
