Guide
Start with your Solana wallet
You use Phantom or Solflare. Every coin here is a pump.fun coin that trades in ZEC instead of SOL. You can pay with SOL anyway: the app swaps it for you.

What happens to my money
It stays in your wallet. Your coins and your ZEC sit in your own Solana wallet. Sapling never holds them.
You approve every move. Each trade is one transaction. The app simulates it first and refuses it if it would cost more than shown. Then your wallet shows it, and nothing happens until you approve.
A slice of every trade feeds the coin. Part of each trade's fee goes into that coin's roots, a pool of ZEC that belongs to the coin. Holders can burn tokens to take their share of it.
No promise about price. Coins can go to zero.
01Connect Phantom or Solflare
Press Connect Solana at the top of the page and pick your wallet.
Keep a little SOL in it. Every Solana transaction pays a small network fee in SOL.
Top of every page. 02No ZEC? Pay with SOL
Coins trade in ZEC on Solana. If you only have SOL, choose Pay with SOL: the app swaps your SOL to ZEC through Jupiter and buys the coin.
If you already hold ZEC on Solana, choose Pay with ZEC.
If your ZEC is on Zcash, bring it over on Move ZEC, under Bring from Zcash. It arrives in your Solana wallet, usually within 10 minutes.
On a coin's page. Pay with SOL swaps it to ZEC for you. 03Buy and sell on any coin's page
Open a coin from Coins. Type an amount and the box shows what you get, the most it can cost and the price impact.
Slippage is how far the price may move against you before the trade is refused. Tap slippage to change it.
Press Buy or Sell, then approve in your wallet. When you sell, you receive ZEC.
What the trade needs is said before you press, never after. 04The three stages
Seed. Just planted. Fewer than 10 buys so far.
Sapling. Climbing the curve. Each buy pushes it up pump.fun's curve; the bar shows how far.
Orchard. Graduated to PumpSwap. The curve is complete, and the coin now trades in a PumpSwap pool. You trade it here the same way.
Each coin's page and tile shows its stage. 05Harvest: burn tokens, get ZEC
Every coin has roots: ZEC that its own trades put aside. Your tokens give you a share of it.
In the Harvest panel, type how many tokens to burn. The panel shows the exact ZEC you get before you sign. Press Harvest ZEC.
Burned tokens are gone for good. It works at every stage.
On a coin's page, under the chart. 06Plant a coin
On Plant, give your coin a name, a ticker and an image.
Choose where your 0.80% of every trade goes: Me, Another wallet, or Holders, which pays it to the coin's holders and can never be changed back.
You can add a first buy. Planting costs 0.01 SOL, plus Solana's own fees. It is one approval in your wallet.
On the Plant page. 07Where the 2% fee goes
Every trade pays a 2.00% fee in ZEC. It splits four ways:
- 0.50% into the coin's roots, up to 5 ZEC per coin.
- 0.50% buys $SAPLING and burns it. This happens on every trade of every coin.
- 0.80% to whoever the coin's planter chose.
- 0.20% to Sapling, for running the site.
pump.fun takes its own fee on top: 0.95% on the curve, 0.25% after graduation.

None of it reaches Sapling. The split can change within the program's bounds: the roots never below 0.50%, Sapling never above 0.40%.
The same bar is on every coin's page. 08Cash out to Zcash any time
When you sell or harvest, tick Receive as native ZEC on Zcash and enter your Zcash address. The ZEC goes to your Zcash wallet instead of staying on Solana.
Choose Shielded to have it arrive as a shielded note, or Transparent to have it sent straight to a transparent address.
To send ZEC you already hold, without selling anything, use Move ZEC, under Send to Zcash.
In the Sell tab, and in the Harvest panel.
Questions
Do I need ZEC?
No. Choose Pay with SOL and the app swaps your SOL to ZEC through Jupiter before the buy. You do need a little SOL for network fees.
What is ZEC on Solana?
It is ZEC bridged to Solana by NEAR's Omni Bridge. It is an ordinary Solana token, and it is what every Sapling coin is priced in.
You can move it to and from the Zcash network on Move ZEC.
Is it private?
No. ZEC on Solana has none of Zcash's privacy. Every trade, harvest and transfer is public, like any other Solana token.
A shielded payout to Zcash keeps your Zcash address private, and what you do with the ZEC afterwards. The sale itself, your Solana wallet and the amount stay public.
Can Sapling take my coins?
No. Your coins sit in your wallet, and only you can sell, move or burn them.
The only funds Sapling's admin key can move are the ZEC in a coin's roots, and only to one fixed recovery address while that coin's roots are paused. Who holds the keys has the full list.
How do holder rewards work?
Some coins pay the planter's 0.80% to holders instead. Wallets holding $20 or more of the coin share it, in ZEC, paid straight to the wallet. You do nothing. If your wallet has no ZEC account, the keeper opens one in the same payment and takes the account's rent (about 0.002 SOL, in ZEC) from your share; a share worth less than twice the rent waits for the next run. Those coins carry a Pays holders badge.
Stay safe
No DMs, no keys. Sapling never DMs you first and never asks for your seed phrase or keys. Anyone who does is not Sapling.
Check every character of an address. Look-alike addresses copy only the first and the last few. Take an address from your own wallet's Receive screen, never from your history or an explorer.
