Coins paired with a stock
A stock pair is a coin whose curve trades against a tokenized stock instead of ZEC. You still pay in SOL or ZEC, and you are paid back in SOL or ZEC.

Coins can go to zero. A stock behind a coin does not hold its price up.
01Plant a coin paired with a stock
On Plant, at the Pair step, choose Stocks, then the stock. A stock that cannot be picked right now stays in its place, closed, and says why.
The step shows the stock's issuer status from Sapling's live check, for example: Backed's controls on NVDAx match the ones we reviewed. Under it is the disclosure (below). In the final checklist, tick I understand NVDAx's issuer can pause or freeze it. The Plant button waits for it.
Plant from a Solana wallet or from your Zcash wallet. From a Solana wallet, a first buy paid in SOL or ZEC is exchanged into the stock inside the planting, or goes with it as one bundle: one slot, or neither lands. From your Zcash wallet: Your first buy goes in one bundle with your launch: the same slot, or neither lands. A shielded launch pairs with ZEC, SOL or $SAPLING. A coin paired with a stock is planted from a normal account.
Just before it builds the planting, Sapling reads the issuer's controls again. If they no longer match its review, nothing is planted.

Open the coin from Coins. In its box, stay on Buy and choose Pay with SOL or Pay with ZEC.
Every trade goes in and out as SOL or ZEC, in one transaction. The exchange into NVDAx happens inside it, and the trade is refused if it fails.
Every trade is simulated first, and its real SOL cost is shown before you sign.
On a stock coin's page. 03Buy with your Zcash wallet
In the coin's box choose Zcash wallet, as for any coin (Start with your Zcash wallet), and type an amount in ZEC.
This coin is paired with NVDAx. Your ZEC is exchanged into NVDAx inside the order, never below the minimum you sign. You never hold NVDAx.
During the beta, one order is at most 1 ZEC.
On a stock coin's page, with your Zcash wallet. 04Sell for SOL or ZEC
With a Solana wallet, choose Sell, then Receive SOL or Receive ZEC. The coin is sold for the stock and the stock for what you chose, in the same transaction.
With your Zcash wallet, choose Sell, then Zcash wallet. The ZEC goes back to your Zcash wallet, as for any coin.
Selling is the same, the other way round. 05Where the creator fee goes
2.00% creator fee, turned into ZEC on chain and split: 0.80% to the deployer, or the holders or wallet the deployer chose, 0.50% burns $SAPLING, 0.50% $SAPLING/ZEC liquidity, 0.20% Sapling.
Sapling turns its own fees in the stock into ZEC every few minutes, so it holds very little of it.

None of it reaches Sapling. The split can change within the program's bounds: liquidity never below 0.50%, Sapling never above 0.40%.

The issuer's controls
An issuer can stop its token. A tokenized stock comes with controls its issuer holds. It can pause the token, or freeze an account that holds it; some can also move or burn it from any account. Each stock's disclosure (below) says which. While an issuer does, a coin paired with that stock cannot be bought or sold.
Sapling watches those controls. Each stock's controls are read on chain and compared with the ones Sapling reviewed. If they change, Sapling pauses that stock and says:
Backed changed NVDAx's issuer controls. New NVDAx pairs and buys are paused until it is reviewed. Selling stays open.
When it reopens. It reopens once every control matches our review again.
If the issuer pauses its token. The coin's box says: NVDAx is paused by its issuer. This coin cannot be traded until it is unpaused.
If Sapling cannot read the controls. We can't read the issuers' controls right now. New stock pairs and buys are paused until we can. Selling stays open.

Bunker Mode
Buying and selling: yes. A coin paired with a stock trades from your Zcash wallet in Bunker Mode, as any coin does there.
Planting a stock pair: no. In Bunker Mode a coin is planted as a shielded launch, and a shielded launch pairs with ZEC, SOL or $SAPLING.
Questions
Do I ever hold the stock?
No. You pay in SOL or ZEC and are paid in SOL or ZEC. The exchange into the stock, and back, happens inside your trade, and the trade is refused if it fails.
What does it cost?
The creator fee, 2.00%, inside the price, as on every coin, plus Solana's network fees. From a Zcash wallet, Sapling's account fee of 0.5% and NEAR Intents' transfer fee are added, as for any coin. Every cost is shown before you sign.
What if the stock is paused while I hold the coin?
The coin cannot be bought or sold until the stock reopens. The coin's box says so: This pair is paused for now.
Stay safe
No DMs, no keys. Sapling never DMs you first and never asks for your seed phrase or keys. Anyone who does is not Sapling.
Check every character of an address. Look-alike addresses copy only the first and the last few. Take an address from your own wallet's Receive screen, never from your history or an explorer.
